I am a married mum of two teenage boys. I have worked alongside children and young
people (0-18) for the past 12 years in various settings such as schools, children’s homes,
and nurseries, but Early Years is my passion.
I’m very creative and love making children’s resources, I made a wooden Punch and Judy
puppet theatre with puppets whilst at university and it was displayed and is kept at Preston
Farm Museum.
I also love photography, I studied this before child development and I have worked in various
environments such as studios, wedding photography and even hospital/clinical photography.
I take a camera with me wherever I go, portraits and landscapes are my favorite subjects.
A more recent hobby of mine is upcycling old unwanted furniture, I love sourcing the pieces
from charity and antique shops even Facebook market place. I often keep the upcycled
furniture I’ve finished, but I have also sold some on.
Promises I make to your child..
I promise to keep your child safe and feeling secure in our setting.
I promise to listen to your child, their feelings and wishes.
I promise to make our environment a nurturing one where your child feels safe
and free to explore, challenge themselves and thrive through fun, purposeful
play.

Our curriculum is a complete HOLISTIC APPROACH to education, engaging all aspects of the learner, including mind, body, and spirit. Its philosophy, which is also identified as holistic learning theory, is based on the premise that each person finds a UNIQUE IDENTITY, SELF- WORTH, and LIFE -PURPOSE through connections to their local community, to the natural world, and to humanitarian values such as compassion and peace. This is a combination of Montessori, Hygge, and Curiosity approaches.
Our team is always active in looking out for new methods of creating learning and developmental activities for children. We follow EYFS framework. From basic to advanced, we have something for everyone.
At EARLY MILES NURSERY - we appreciate every child with their uniqueness - We observe our children, studying how they lead their own play and we involve parents and carers to find out the children’s interests. With all this information we can provide the appropriate environment, resources, and interactions to progress the children in all areas of development.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. All schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers must follow the EYFS, including childminders, preschools, nurseries and school reception classes.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children.
As well as being the core document for all professionals working in the foundation years, the EYFS framework gives mums and dads confidence that regardless of where they choose for their child’s early education, they can be assured that the same statutory commitments and principles will underpin their child’s learning and development experience.
